About This Book
Ron Lane manages agricultural research facilities at Davis, at the University of California, and writes stories and poetry in his spare time. He graduated from Humboldt State University in 1983 with degrees in forest management and botany and has spent the last twenty years involved with agriculture and community activities. Together with Christine, his wife of twenty-six years, they raised their two children, and they recently moved into a house they built in Colfax, California. With his kids grown, and having finished building his home, Ron turned to something he has done his whole lifeâ€"telling stories. Aside from reading to his children, he frequently made up stories for them. These were the stories they loved the best, and Avina’s Song was told to them over fifteen years ago, when the family still lived in Sonora, California. It is a story of love, friendship, tragedy, and being made better for overcoming adversity. Most of the stories he told his children have long been forgotten, but they especially loved this one, and we think you will too.
