About This Book

For a widow woman and her young daughter, trying to scratch out a living in northwest Georgia in the late 1800's was a difficult proposition. No credit would be given them at the General Store in Crowbar, owned and operated by Clinton Hobbs and it looked like if the Lord didn't send some angel help, Annie Grayson and Julie just wasn't going to make it. A pair of big-hearted bachelor brothers known by most folks as Cricket and Cornshuck looked on the adverse predicament of their neighbor and decided to help them. They secretly mailed them some gold and it liked to have caused Clinton Hobbs to lose his sanity. He thought the widow woman had found it on her place and he meant to have her worthless farm at any cost. With his brother, J.B. being the sheriff, he figured he wouldn't have much trouble swindling her out of it. He never considered Cricket and Cornshuck who meant to see that He didn't take advantage of the Graysons and an all-out battle takes place. When the dust clears, Julie Grayson believes her mother was right. All angels don't have wings.
