AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is a good ole’ Space Opera in the spirit of “Star Wars,” “Star Trek: Deep Space 9,” the “Dune” series and “Battlestar Galactica” (I am not saying this list is complete). These kinds of epics most certainly constitute a genre all their own - and one, I would contend, is one of our modern mythologies (“The Lord of the Rings” being another, though in a different genre, and springing from the earlier rather than later 20th century.) Of course, however, this particular manifestation of the Space Opera Mythos has a lot more ODDNESS added into the brew - peculiarities almost ornamentally abounding! - than has been dared hitherto. ALL IS DARED HERE!
