About This Book
"Alison, come on Peter's coming up the drive "
Her sister's voice slammed Alison back to the present and she stood for a moment disoriented. She had been lost in the vision of a ball like the ones her mother had described from memories on a Southern plantation. Soft music had been playing as she glided through a waltz in the arms of a handsome partner.
Alison admired herself in the mirror one more time, smoothing her spun gold curls and gently touching the golden roses that Mama had nestled there. Her dress, expertly fashioned of gold silk shot through with silver, was by far the most beautiful she had ever owned. Mama had laced her corset tight on her, emphasizing the tiny waist and ripening young breasts.
Jean grew up in Urbana, IL, the third daughter of Marion and Mary Sadorus. On Feb 14, 1987, she married the love of her life, David Lutz, in Reno, Nevada. The following year she and David moved from her home town of Urbana to Sunnyvale, Ca., where he worked as a non-degreed engineer in Silicon Valley. Jean suffered from Muscular Dystrophy and when it continued limiting her physical activities she concentrated on her searcha- word puzzles and love stories. As she spent more of her time reading love stories written by others, she felt they were lacking in something so she began writing her own stories solely for her own enjoyment. She had completed half of her fifty-first story, when she finally succumbed to her illness. After reading her stories I decided the world should also have the opportunity to enjoy them. Bon Appetite.
