About This Book

Lewis Carroll was the pen name used by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, who was born in England on January 27, 1832, and died there on January 14, 1898.

Though best known as an author today, during his life-time he was an Anglican deacon, mathematician, logician, and photographer.

His most famous writings are Alices Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass, and the nonsense poems, The Hunting of the Snark and Jabberwocky. Because his writing is noted for its word play, logic, and fantasy, it has a great appeal to adults.

There are societies dedicated to the enjoyment and promotion of his works and the investigation of his life in many parts of the world, including the United Kingdom, Japan, the United States, and New Zealand
