About This Book

In 1946, Jack Wallston returns from military service to find a box of letters from Abigail Martin, a young lady he met in 1943. Along an isolated section of the Oregon coast Jack and Abigail shared an intimate affair. Jack’s first inclination is to ignore the letters, fearing they will bring back the heartache and disappointment he suffered in 1943. His heart will not allow him the luxury of such a simple solution so he takes the letters back to the isolated cove where they met. As Jack feared, he is quickly drawn back to his painful departure three years previous. As he gets deeper into the letters, he is dismayed at the fate Abigail suffers after his departure. The letters compel Jack on a quest to free Abigail from the misery she now suffers. Not only does Jack struggle to help Abigail, he ultimately finds himself entrapped in a dark secret of Abigail’s familyâ€"one that could well destroy him. Will his efforts reunite him with the woman he loves or destroy both of them?
