A North Wind

A strong gust of wind shook the van hard enough to rattle its occupants. The air filled with debris as trash cans, lawn chairs, and other objects became projectiles hurled by the increasing storm. October 3 in central Virginiaâ€"much too early for winter, yet a few snowflakes had suddenly become a blizzard as the temperature continued to drop. Earlier, Brenda tried not to alarm the children when the strange darkness covered the sun. However, it soon became obvious to everybody that something was terribly wrong. As conditions grew worse, she knew their time to reach safety was growing shorter. What would you do if you were told that Earth was entering a new Ice Age?
