About This Book

The Flying Tiger Club, just outside Tulsa, features one-armed sixties music legend Hondo Loomis on stage, a World War II airplane on the roof, and old Route 66 running past the front door. The night that hard-luck writer Taggart Roper sits in with the band, there's a new point of interest: a dead man in the Dumpster. Two cops - one good, one bad - think Roper may have killed him.
So do the local mob boss and a mysterious, half-crazed gunman with possible CIA connections. Meanwhile, somebody is making death threats against Loomis, and everybody wants to know what happened to a certain missing half million dollars in drug money.
The search for answers leads Roper down a twisted and terrifying path, into the shadowy world of dirty national secrets and sinister agencies with no official existence. But hardest of all are the truths he must confront about himself and his own life....
