The Search
Ben Sylvester, a political consultant for emerging Third World democracies, returns home one day to find his house deserted and his wife, Karen, and children missing. In short order, Sylvester is kidnapped by a man claiming to know the whereabouts of Sylvester's wife, and the two embark on a search where they become mired in a world filled with corporate greed, family jealousy, and murder. Ben's physical search for Karen serves as a metaphor for his search for his soul. Stilted dialog and often unrealistic situations mar what might have been a gripping thriller. Not recommended.
