About the Author

Virginia Henley was born in Bolton, England in 1935. She holds a degree in History which she puts to use in her writing. Her historical romances are well known for their degree of period detail. She married Arthur Henley in 1956. The couple moved to Ontario, Canada where Henley spent her days as a housewife. She was inspired to write after reading Kathleen E. Woodiwiss’ “The Wolf and the Dove”. Henley’s first book, “The Irish Gypsy” was bought by Avon Books in 1982. She was a friend of Woodiwiss as well as other prominent writers. She has written over eighteen novels and has received many awards, including the Romantic Times Lifetime Achievement Award.
