About the Author

Veronica Henry was born in 1963. She went to the Royal School Bath and studied Latin at Bristol University, then went to work as a production secretary on The Archers, where her duties ranged from organising Shula Archer’s wedding photographs to playing Peaches the barmaid in the Cat and Fiddle. From there she went to Central Television to script-edit such broadcasting legends as Crossroads and Boon. She left to have her first baby in 1990 and became a scriptwriter, writing hundreds of hours of broadcast television for Heartbeat, Doctors and Holby City amongst others.
In 2000, she turned to novels: in 2002, Honeycote, her first novel was published. In 2012 she was writer-in-residence on the Venice-Simplon Orient Express. A Night on the Orient Express won the Romantic Novel of the Year Award 2014 by the Romantic Novelists' Association. She also write features and short stories for newspapers and magazines, including The Daily Mail, Woman and Home and Red Magazine.
She lives on the coast in North Devon her husband and three sons.
