The wedding of Adam Pengelly and Vera Pollard brings many Cornish families together once again, including the Tremaynes, owners of Killigrew Clay and the White Rivers Pottery.

Skye Tremayne is now married to her wartime lover Philip Norwood, and with three small children and a pottery business to run, her life is always busy. But Philip is still traumatised by old war injuries, and Skye increasingly feels that she is married to a total stranger.
