Love and War

The last person Julia wanted to see at the story conference was Martin Taylor. Since he'd joined the staff of Canadian Horizons, he had swiped every important article that came along. His English accent and worldly manner had bowled over most of the women in the office, but Julia Bennett wasn't falling for Martin's charms. Beneath the sun-streaked hair and raffish smile was a vulture, and there was no way she was going to let him pounce on her first cover story.

But Julia had no choice in the matter. Their editor wanted a new angle on this story--a mixture of Julia's fresh, spunky perspective and Martin's hard-edged wit. Martin and Julia would be collaborators, a team working together from research to final revision.

Julia wasn't sure she'd survive two weeks with the infuriating journalist. Fortunately, her "partner" had a plan. They would each write their own article, submit them anonymously, then let the editor choose the best piece. A woman with a passion for competition, Julia couldn't resist the contest. But every time she turned around, she found Martin studying her, making her laugh, melting her heart with kisses. Didn't he understand that there was no neutral ground in love and war?
