She was beautiful, homeless, and she needed Pat's help --

From the porch of the Dutch Springs Hotel, Pat Stevens watched the girl driving the open buckboard at the head of the funeral procession. She was no more than nineteen, and her bulky raincoat failed to conceal the lithe lines of her trim body.

So that was Bart Fallonshbee's daughter. A day later the girl came to see him. “Will you help me, Pat? Dad was swindled out of the ranch by a gang of crooks. I don't know who they were, but if we could find Vern Hunter we'd have a lead.”

Some said Hunter was dead; some said he'd ridden out of the territory. With his side-kicks Sam and Ezra, Pat followed a bloody trail that led all the way to Wyoming and left more than a few dead men along the way!
