Nurse Kelly's Crusade
Beautiful Kelly Jarman was a dedicated nurse, but she was also a young woman in love. And now her heart was torn between her professional pride and her personal emotions.

At Harbor Hospital in San Francisco where Kelly worked, she led the demands of nurses for better pay and greater recognition -- demands that handsome intern Cass Sterling looked upon with scornful disapproval. Kelly could not stop loving Cass, but she could not desert a cause in which she deeply believed. Nor was her decision made easier when jet pilot Marty Randolph offered to take her away from this scene of heartache. It took a shattering crisis and a dramatic hospital battle against disaster, to show Kelly the way out of her painful dilemma, and into the arms of the man who was right for her.

It was after tall, good-looking Cass Sterling, serving his internship at Harbor Hospital in San Francisco, asked Kelly Jarman for a date that she began seriously to consider moving to the city to be nearer the hospital. Fighting the Bayshore Highway traffic, twice a day was almost too much for her, but the apartment in Menlo Park, which she shared with two private-duty nurses, was so beautiful -- and so convenient for Jet Pilot Marty Randolph, when he dropped down out of the skies about twice a week from the East. Besides, she would be leaving her younger sister, Babs, who had a year old son to raise and who leaned on the stronger Kelly.

Trying to forget that Marty had never asked her to marry him and that marriage for Cass was far, far in the future, Kelly threw herself into the nurses' crusade for better pay and more responsibility for graduate nurses. She knew that most of the doctors at Harbor Hospital -- and especially Cass Sterling -- were opposed to the nurses, but she felt that she could do no less.

A dramatic collision in the icy waters off the Golden Gate Bridge between the Danish freighter Copenhagen and the Swedish passenger Sonya brings matters to a head in this graphic story of the big-city hospital and the personal and professional problems of a dedicated and very beautiful young nurse.
