The Thistledown Connection — Mike Mitchell

What starts as a routine investigation for Chief Inspector Penney into the drug death of a wealthy socialite quickly escalates as potential witnesses are murdered. Meanwhile grief-stricken Army captain, Sticky Wood, is recruited into an MI6 secret ops unit involved in taking out terrorists in the Mediterranean and recovering drug shipments in Afghanistan and Mexico. Back in London, the death toll is rapidly mounting as one man brings his revenge down on the drug trade. With the police starting to close in on the dealers and the Government's COBRA committee being called together, Sticky and the secret ops group are drawn in as their unwitting part is about to be exposed. To protect them and the government, they head for an explosive confrontation at Thistledown, the Scottish headquarters of industrialist Albert Johnson.
