Struggling dress designer, Lana Hunter finds herself at loose ends on New Years Eve. On a whim, she decides to head for Las Vegas to meet the guy she's been chatting with on an internet dating site. What happens in Las Vegas is supposed to stay in Las Vegas. But Lana gets far more than she bargained for when she meets Cato Tennille a successful software developer. Cato is looking for a relationship and Lana is recovering from a broken engagement.

Cato is the new "man wonder" to hit the software world. He's making the more established guys nervous.. He's from humble beginnings, and like Lana, he once was a ward of the state. Family is something Cato never experienced. He's tired of the gold diggers awed by his money and newfound fame. Lana seems perfect. Except she's not that easy to convince.
