Tension in the Theatre at St. Antony's Hospital had built up alarmingly during the last few days; Calder Savage, the new Senior Surgical Officer, had really lived up to his name, venting a savage irony on anyone who fell foul of him. But when he gave Staff Nurse Honor Portland a lift home, she was surprised to find what an interesting man he was.
