Alyssa De Leon has spent all her seventeen years being perfect. The perfect daughter, the perfect student, the perfect candidate for Valedictorian. When none of the other student ambassadors in her school mentoring program wants to pair up with transfer student and foster kid, Brandi Keith, Alyssa steps in, disgusted by their judgmental attitudes.

For Brandi, this is same bull, different school, and she's not about to let perfect little do-gooder Alyssa break through her hard-earned emotional armor.
