Lara has just wrapped up her annual antiquing tour through the continent, and she's ready to head home. But when she is invited to meet with the reclusive billionaire and world famous antiques collector Crawford Lake, she manages to extend her vacation. As an avid fan of the Etruscans -- the ancient inhabitants of modern-day Tuscany -- Mr. Lake commissions Lara to find and retrieve a certain Etruscan sculpture, cautioning her not to mention his name to anyone.

He knows where the sculpture is, and he knows whom to contact to get it. All Lara has to do is get the owner to sell -- which is a hard thing to do when he turns up dead in his own Etruscan tomb. Now Lara must search for that most precious, and most often counterfeited, rarity in the antiques market -- someone she can trust.
