Peppertree Lane
Jean Delaney was immensely grateful to her crusty old Uncle Gerald. After all, she and her mother and young brother were virtual stranger to him, yet when they fell upon hard times he offered them a home for as long as they wanted one. True, the home was a rather dilapidated one, but Jane and her mother were more than prepared to pull their weight and smarten the place up. But what about the attitude of the old-man's foster son Rob? He made it quite clear that he disapproved of the whole thing, that he had no time for newcomers and was convinced that they were out to make all they could from old Mr Delaney. What business was it of his? Why didn't he get on with his romance with Valerie Miller and just leave Jane and her family alone?
