Trusting Lies

Chris hated Roamers. It was Roamer sorcery that had cursed the land and started the feud with his people, the Homesteaders, and it was the Roamers' fault that Chris' parents were dead.

Arron, a Roamer, hated Homesteaders. It was the Homesteaders' treachery that brought the curse upon the land, Homesteader persecution that had killed his family and almost killed him. Now he was alone and wounded-and his life was in Chris' hands.

Chris knew he should turn Arron over to the vigilantes. But without the Roamer's extraordinary powers, Chris could not break the curse. Arron had no reason to trust Chris, but only with the Homesteader's magical box could the Roamer save the land.

Somehow they had to find a way to work together, before the evil that had spawned the curse and the feud could tear them-and their world-apart.
