The Fairly Innocent Little Man
BEAUTIFUL LADIES, FINE SCOTCH AND A CHANCE TO BEST THE POLICE-ALL IRRESISTIBLE TEMPTATIONS FOR HOOKY HEFFERMAN

Hooky's life has had some rough patches. But then that's to be expected when one's playing the role of gentleman adventurer, traipsing up and down the globe and generally dancing with fate. It's a life-style that's also left Hooky Hefferman unafraid of most things. His intimidating aunt, the Honorable Mrs. Page-Foley, might be an exception.

Appearing at a command performance for a weekend of bridge--he dare not refuse--Hooky is actually impressed with the self-possessed Major Weller, a new acquaintance of his aunt's. He's so taken with the major that he's completely unaware a robbery is being staged--right beneath his nose.

When the plan is finally executed, things go deadly wrong, and Hooky soon finds himself in the midst of an impending disaster. It is one he must prevent if both his aunt and his latest lady friend--not to mention the police--are ever to take him seriously--as a P.I.--again.
