Kay Thorpe
British author Kay Thorpe has written over 75 romance novels for Mills & Boon and Harlequin Enterprises. She was born in 1935. As a young woman, she held a variety of jobs including dental nursing and a stint in the Women’s Royal Airforce. In 1968, “The Last of the Mallorys” was published, marking the beginning of her writing career. Being a writer in the late 1960s, she is considered to be one of the first authors to explore sexual desire. Her work often reflected the “sexual revolution” of the time. Her heroines were independent, flawed, and able to initiate relationships. Her characters often had to come to terms with accepting love unconditionally without the need for the security of marriage.
She enjoys reading, music and travelling.
