This book picks up where the fourth book ends. The two children, Logan and Tori, have started living with their aunt. To give them stability, she decides to keep them at their old cabin until their Mom gets out of rehab. The kids have dealt with a lot and have some trouble adjusting. Janna didn't even know they existed until the social worker called her and informed her of the fact. She's not sure she can handle being their guardian.
Enter Dev McGuire, rich tycoon snob - turned recluse woodsman. He takes to the kids immediately and starts falling for Janna in spite of it all.
The story was sweet in a way, but shockingly realistic in others. Everything didn't turn out rosy in the end, but that's life. Jenna and Dev's love grew stronger because of the situations. No big drama happened when Dev revealed his past, and I liked that.
