Two corporate bombings cause officials to call in top investigator, Virgil Flowers, to investigate and find the killer.

There is animosity toward PyeMart a Wallmart typt of corporation. Many people in the Butternut Falls, Minnesota area fear for their jobs if the corporation moves in. Others fear that there will be an ecological disaster because the corporation will add polutants to the water.

Virgil is an easy going investiator. His humorous and down home approach results in people opening up for him and giving him good information.

The list of suspects grows as Virgil attempt to find the people with the most dislike for the corporation but then the plot shifts in a different direction.

"Shock Wave" is an enjoyable read with colorful characters and is very entertaing.
