Reminiscent of Jonathan Coe, this is a darkly funny novel, with touches of the surreal, set in the world of the Roundhouse in Camden in the '70s, against the background of strikes and national discontent. John Preston, the Telegraph critic, has already had two novels published (as well as a Thomas Cook award nominated travel book).
