River of Peace
The remote village of Dawson Creek, British Colombia, has never had a schoolteacher. Since the death of her beloved mother, Ida has never been on her own. Welcomed warmly not only by her students and their families, but the boardinghouse matron as well, Ida feels at home while dealing privately with her pain.

Of all her students Ida finds herself particularly drawn to Ruth McEvan, who is also struggling with a devasting family tradegy. Drawn to Ida, on the other hand , is Ken Danielson, the wealthy son of the blond, green-eyed teacher.

While Ida scorns Ken's affections, will she find a man to fill her empty heart? Will Ida someday know peace like a river?
