Voyage to love...and danger!

Lisa Halliday is a strawberry blonde and an expert archeologist -- the perfect bait to catch a thief who's stolen priceless ancient Egyptian jewelry from the London Museum. The suspect is touring the Mediterranean on a freighter. It is believed he plans to pick up his hidden loot at one of the ship's ports of call.

James MacAllister, an astute young lawyer, and Lisa join the tour to track the criminal. Lisa knows the danger in the mission -- she may lose her life -- but slowly and certainly she senses another danger. She is losing her heart, too, to a man who is known to keep his own heart under lock and key.

The villa they were touring had been built by the Crusaders...

"How about a picture of you?" James asked Lisa. He waved toward the arched doorway of the villa. "Stand over there--that way I can get some of the stonework of the background." He remained immobile for a minute then lowered the camera. "Damn...this thing's jammed. The release button doesn't work."

A frown creased her forehead. "The safety must still be on?" Sher started toward him. "I'll show you how to release it."

There was a sudden whoosh of sound behind her and a thud jarred the earth under her feet. She shied like a skittish colt as she whirled to see what had happened.

A watermelon-sized boulder had fallen in the spot where she had stood a moment before. "My lord," she whispered in horror.

"Get away from here." James was in front of her, kneeling to survey the jagged-edged rock. "He might still be there," he muttered and turned to enter the arched doorway.

"No!" For the life of her, Lisa couldn't have said whether her sharp cry of protest was premeditated. All she knew was that she simply could not permit James to disappear into that suddenly sinister recess...
