The Mystery Bookstore — Gertrude Chandler Warner

One warm night four children stood in front of a bakery. No one knew them. No one knew where they had come from.

Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny used to live alone in a boxcar. Now they have a home with their grandfather, and are going on a trip to New Orleans.

The Aldens like exploring the city. Most of all they like helping Grandfather's friend clean up her old, dusty bookstore. They discover lots of interesting things in the store, especially a beautiful set of books of fairy tales.

But then mysterious things start to happen. One of the books in the set is missing!

Someone is after something the Boxcar Children have. Will they be able to solve this new, exciting mystery?
