The Texas Gatekeepers
This book focused on Bernadette (who had a minor role in the first two books) and Owen ( who had a minor role in the second book). I like both characters. I like that one of the characters is already in love when the book starts. I like that the suspense keeps you guessing how they're going to get out of this mess. And I liked' Owen's honest response when he found out the truth about Bernadette. Sometimes in books the person is too accepting and brushes news like this off. Yet from his thought process, we know that he is indeed very bothered by her background. That's realistic!
The first half of the book didn't keep my attention like the other two books did. I loved the ending, of course, and his comment at the very end of the last chapter. It was nice to revisit the other characters in the books and see that they are just normal people with problems. Life never is perfect!
