Reflecting Emmy
"A fun, fresh and thoroughly entertaining modern twist on the Narcissus myth." ~ Tera Lynn Childs, award-winning author of Oh. My. Gods.

Mirror, Mirror is the third set of Mythology High stories, which take classic myths and modernize them with teen heroines. This collection combines a prequel, EMMY'S FIRST GLIMPSE, and three short stories: REFLECTING EMMY, NARA GAZING and SHATTERING GIGI plus a bonus Q&A with the author.

Meet Emmy, Nara, Luke, Echo, and very infamous great grandmother, GiGi.

EMMY'S FIRST GLIMPSE

It all started with a party.

Before she became a Revenge Expert, before she started sucking narcissistic teens from the planet, Emmy had to receive her mystical mirror. And with that came a wild bash full of lions, Greek Gods, and a very awkward ceremony.

The next morning Emmy awakes to her first assignment. Only after growing up isolated on a Greek Island schooled only in the legends of Hera and Zeus, Emmy has no idea what to expect when she's plopped into a posh high school outside of New Orleans. Her great grandmother may have sent her to judge her target's reflection, but Emmy will soon learn that her fellow classmates also will be judging her.

BONUS: interviews with author Diana Rodriguez Wallach by two award-winning YA authors, Melissa Walker and Stephanie Kuehnert. Learn what inspired the covers in the Mirror, Mirror collection as well as the inspiration behind the stories themselves. Plus a recommended soundtrack to accompany the stories.

Reflecting Emmy: Eighteen-year-old Emmy is in the family business-trapping vapid narcissistic souls into her silver compact mirror for all eternity. It's what the Rhamnusia family has been doing for thousands of years, all under the direction of Great Grandmother. Only Emmy's latest assignment, Nara, is about to prove more challenging than she ever expected.

Gorgeous and self-absorbed, Nara is unflinchingly cruel to her classmates. Even her boyfriend, Luke, can no longer tolerate her actions--much to Emmy's relief since she finds Luke a little more than intriguing. But when Emmy tricks Nara into gazing into her mystical mirror, what she finds there is not what she's expecting.

Nara Gazing: When your family's been in the revenge business for thousands of years, you don't want to be the first person screw up. But that's exactly what's happened to Emmy. Her objective is to suck cruel and self-absorbed Nara off the planet, but when nothing goes as planned, Emmy starts to suspect some magical intervention. Before Emmy can discover what's really going on, Luke -- Nara's ex-boyfriend and Emmy's current crush -- gets involved and things go from bad to worse.

With innocent lives on the line, Emmy learns that she's not the only teen with mystical powers wandering the halls of their posh New Jersey high school, and that she might need to enlist some unlikely help if she's going to correct her colossal mistake.

Nara Gazing ties together the myths of Narcissus, Nemesis, and Echo -- the nymph tragically in love in with unlovable Narcissus. It's a love-hate triangle for the ages, updated in a modern high school setting.

Shattering GiGi: For Emmy, the one thing scarier than accidentally sucking the only crush she's ever had off the planet is facing her great grandmother. Especially since her great grandmother, GiGi, has been around since the dawn of time.

But how else is Emmy going to correct the biggest mistake in the history of her family business? Her magical mirror must be broken -- it's the only way to explain why an innocent person would be wiped off the planet while, Nara, the narcissistic target she was sent to destroy is walking around free. But she'll need GiGi's help if she's going to fix her mirror, and that will require both Emmy and Nara to do things they never thought capable.

Shattering GiGi ties together the myths of Narcissus, Nemesis, Echo, and Nyx.
