A mail order bride themed book; although I don't usually fancy this kind of theme, the plot got my attention because there were no runaways, merely people looking for a new chance, hoping for a better future.
Mary was perfect in her role, but the cowboy too much into his own affairs, like he wasn't the one asking for a wife or he thought he could just go on with his own affairs. I suppose it serves the plot. All and all, I thought there was a good dynamic between the characters and a nice flow to the story if we just forget that it all happened in a very short amount of time (1 week?). Not meaning to spoil anything, but I was expecting Mary to take a bit longer to warm up to the cowboy's caresses and a bit more effort on his part...
I also wasn't very interested in the side story by itself...maybe it couldn't have been more interconnected with the main story, like the other girl and Mary could have become more intimate friends and confidants, but there really wasn't an opportunity for that.
Still, the book has an overall nice tone to it, relaxing and maybe traditional, which I really enjoyed.
