Although Rachel Boyton had no regrets about giving up nursing to care for her dying mother and, after her loss, supporting her GP father, nevertheless her part-time job as hospital librarian wasn't completely satisfying.
Her feelings strengthened after meeting the new orthopedic registrar, Nick Redfern, who by chance had moved into her Norfolk village. But although she soon discovered Nick wasn't married he did seem to have other commitments about which he was more than ordinarily secretive. What was going on?
