After a phone call for help from her brother now living in Australia, Angelina jumps on a plane and is abducted as soon as she leaves the airport. A good-looking Australian saves her, and they soon discover that her brother is missing. Moment by moment throughout the book, we learn more and more as the plot thickens. Several murders take place. Angelina is badly beaten, and her brother is shot. But then things get really bad! There is a very tearful scene as she has to say goodbye to someone.
Almost from the moment they meet, David falls in love with Angelina. He continually calls her "Sweetheart," which I find absolutely endearing! There's plenty of kissing and romantic interludes in this book (all clean, of course) to keep the romance going strong! Though this whole story lasted probably a week or so, the two are engaged at the end of the story...
Almost everyone around Angelina is a Christian. She hates hearing about it, but the more David, Marcus, and the other talk about it, the more her heart unfreezes. Some really awful stuff happened to her, and I think the thawing of her heart helps her to see the love God has for her. It's her dying brother that's finally able to convince her to let God in and forgive those that have hurt her.
I really liked David and Angelina as a couple. I liked how the spiritual awakening came. And I loved how Cheryl showed us a little Australian culture!
