Toni was enchanted at the prospect of working in a hospital not far from Tokyo, though she was rather less enchanted with the difficult ophthalmic surgeon, Richard Lewis. But it all worked out for her in the end. The unusual setting of modern Japan results in a story that is intriguingly "different".
