A Star in the Saddle — Ann Sheldon

When soap opera star Joanna Curtis films an episode right next to Rancho del Sol, everyone except Linda gets a chance to know the crew, and Linda soon suspects that Joanna covets her beloved horse, Amber.

Linda is the only one of her crowd who is not chosen to be a bit actor in a soap opera being shot near her ranch. Amber, her horse, is used as part of the story. The star of the show, a girl near Linda's age, treats Linda badly, and gets lost in a forest fire while riding Amber.
