STAR PITCHER
Danny Gargan is the star pitcher for his Arborville baseball team. His father, Chicago White Sox catcher Matt Gargan, is divorced from his mother with whom Danny lives. But Danny still hopes that when his father retires from the major leagues, he will return home to remarry his mother.

When the Warren family moves to town, Danny has to do some quick thinking and also some quick growing up. First of all, Mr. Warren is an attractive widower who works at the library with Danny's Mom. Secondly, Susie Warren announces that she plans to try out for the position of second base on Danny's team. And, worst of all, Susie is good!
