Drew isn't that kind of nerd. He's got friends who aren't from the internet, he plays sports, and he knows how to talk to girls. Sure, he plays Heroes of Legend, the world's most successful massively multiplayer online roleplaying game, and he plays it pretty well, but it's a hobby, not a way of life. He's certainly not the sort of person who'd fall for someone he met in a videogame. Except then he does.
Kit is sweet and clever and funny and a damn good healer. She's everything Drew's looking for in a girl . . . apart from being a boy in real life. To his surprise, Drew discovers that's less of an issue than he thought. Now Kit and Drew have to figure out how to live in both worlds -- online and off.
