Three of them blow into the Wyoming town of Maverly that afternoon: Big Bill Spooner, Jose Murphy, and their leader Johnny Colt. Tired of being saddle tramps, they're looking to write off their debts and make a stake in the cattle business. So when Johnny pays a visit to a man who owes him money, and is instead made fifty-one-percent owner of a herd of nine hundred cattle, he and his pards agree to drive them to Deadwood and collect some cool thousands.
