HAPLESS VICTIM IN A MACABRE RITUAL OF DIABOLIC FRENZY

It was only natural that charming young Jalna Ripley should accompany her boss, the flamboyant and world-renowned ESP expert, Francis Parkhurst, to the remote old mansion in upstate New York.

What happened there was far from natural -- a succession of strange, inexplicable events so frightening and unearthly that even the incredibly knowledgeable Parkhurst was baffled. Only Jalna seemed aware of the real dangers that haunted the house with a nerve-jangling horror that could only lead to a plot of consummate terror from which there might be no escape.

A DELIRIUM OF TERROR

It was evening as Jalna sat alone in her room. Soon she could hear the doors of the house begin to rattle as the lights in her room started flickering. This had happened each night for a week as evidence that the house was indeed haunted.

This night, however, something seemed different and Jalna began to feel dazed. Suddenly the furniture in her room began to move as if coming toward her. She turned in terror toward the door only to see there the dark shadow of a figure with arms outstretched -- as if to seize her.
