The crack at the mouth of the Mississippi began to shake. The demons beneath were thrown into a frenzy. Was their freedom finally within reach? Water began to leak into their chamber as the ground shook violently about them. Desmona strutted to the top of the pile of swarming imps, “Silence!” Her shrill screaming voice brought the hoard to attention. “There is a battle raging above! We have been called to aid our brothers!” Her regal form was alluring and her seductive gaze held the demons captive. “The gate is about to open!” She lifted her mighty jeweled sword toward the widening crack in the roof of the cavern. “Revenge belongs to our master. He is watching and his rage burns as never before! He feels the nearness of his release, of his revenge.” She continued to pace back and forth as the crack widened, “Slay every angel in sight…every angel except Andros! Our master has special plans for that slime, and woe to the demon that takes that pleasure from his grasp.” She paused, stopped pacing and driving both swords into the opening crevice she commanded, “Go forth my underlings…bring our father the souls of men and you will reap a great reward!” She twisted her mighty swords and the crevice quickly widened releasing the mass of demons into the world of men. What will happen to the world of men as this vast hoard of demons is unleashed upon the earth? Destruction surely awaits the unsaved. Can our heroes reach them? Will they survive this new world where evil presides and does all within its power to destroy any glimmer of goodness and hope that may remain? Only time will tell.
