When Detective Constable Kerr joined Fortrow C.I.D. it was obviousthat his ambitious detective inspector did not like him. But as they worked together to solve the all-too-successful thefts of gold from ships in port, their antipathy began to disappear. And when Kerr was in great peril the ambitious D.I. had to stifle his conscience if any of his ambitions were to be fulfilled.
