This semi-fictional account of a 19th century scandal is the loud, raucous, adulterous story of the developer of the sewing machine, Isaac Merritt Singer, one of the most polygamous and outrageous men in American history- married to five wives at once!

The story is told through the eyes of his fictional daughter who, while still a teenager, is taken from her mother's boarding house and raised in her father's Fifth Avenue mansion.

Forming a vivid background to this tale of dishonor is the crowded, muscle-flexing, horse -drawn metropolis that was New York City; with its society balls, new immigrants, escaped slaves....not much different than it is today!
