Bartholomew Prentice, a long time friend of Connor Shea is arrested for murder. Despite the fact that Bart has no recollection of the evening, Connor is convinced his friend is innocent. As Connor's investigation to find the real killer intensifies, he unwittingly angers a deadly group of underworld individuals involved in human trafficking. In doing so, he puts his bride, Angela, and their daughter in mortal danger. When Bart is found dead in his cell and Bart's wife is killed in her bed, Connor learns that an associate from his own past is responsible.
