Rowan Patrick always believed her mother to have died 20 years ago until she learns otherwise and goes to the Lake District to find the Halstead family into which her mother had married after her divorce from Rowan's father. Laura and Chris Halstead and welcoming but Damon Halstead resents Rowan's arrival and suspects her motives.
