Becky Hartfield, Matoaka Weekly Gazette's star reporter, is engaged to marry up-and-coming lawyer Michael Fitzgerald. When Michael asks her to look over a prospective home where they can start their new life together, Becky should be thrilled. But neither of them expected the owner of the house to be Becky's former beau, Rick Montgomery, whose youthful romance with Becky ended 10 years ago. With Michael launching a political career to the exclusion of almost all else, including Becky's opinions, and with Rick's renewed presence in her life, Becky begins to question her engagement.
