Mark and Timmie longed for a pet of their own. They loved dogs, and cats, and gerbils. They loved rabbits, and ponies, and guinea pigs. But they loved carrier pigeons most of all. Their landlord loved pigeons, too. He had a whole loft of them, but he said "absolutely no pets" when he rented the small house to the boys' mother. So they could only watch and dream.
