Suspicions at Sunset — Allen B. Boyer

A train trip to California for her brother's funeral leaves retired police woman Bess Bullock overcome with grief. Even returning to her husband and her friends at the Honey Hills Retirement Center doesn't seem to help. The only thing that seems to sooth her heart is finding a good mystery to solve. Whether it's an energetic priest who has suddenly slowed down, a resident who prefers to live as a shut-in when her daughter is around, or a case of missing narcotics that has baffled the police, Bess finds that her instinct for investigation may be the best medicine for coping with her mourning.
