All the world's a stage, Palm Beach included, as Archy soon discovers. The arrival of legendary Hollywood leading lady Desdemona Darling has the tiny little island in a tizzy. The divine La Darling is to star in the Palm Beach Community Theater's production of Arsenic and Old Lace. And Archy has been drafted to direct.

With a cast and crew culled from Palm Beach's finest, Archy is prepared for more drama backstage than onstage. He's not disappointed. An actor sips some prop wine and drops dead. Now, in a play filled with murderers, Archy must separate the actors from the genuine article--and bring down the curtain on the latest and most enjoyable of McNally's follies.
